There was a time when high-end smartphones with expandable memory
supported just 32GB, but now more of them are supporting 64GB microSD
cards. And now Samsung is bringing a 64GB ultra-high speed (UHS-1)
microSD card this October.
The ultra-high speed 1 (UHS-1) standard memory card supports read
speeds of 104MB per second. With speeds like these, it is easy to see
how smartphones and tablets of the future could finally come without all
those different memory versions. That sounds great to us.
That is
a ways off of course because when Samsung’s 64GB UHS-1 microSD cards
hit store shelves in October it will be very expensive. When prices come
down, it will be really sweet for all of us.
