We recently heard a rumor that Asus may be building the first Google
branded Android tablet, and now according to a recent report from
Digitimes, the Google Nexus tablet could launch as soon as may of this
year.
According to the report Asus and Google are working on a 7
inch Android tablet, which is aimed
at taking on the Amazon Kindle Fire,
and the device is expected to retail for between $199 and $249.
Asus
announced a 7 inch tablet back at CES in January, the Asus MeMo ME370T,
but the device has yet to go on sale, and it could be possible that the
Google Nexus tablet could come with similar specifications.
As a reminder the Asus MeMo ME370T features a 7 inch touchscreen
display with a resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels, processing is provided
by a quad core NVIDIA Tegra 3 processor and it also has 1GB of built in
storage.
